Getting CNA Training From a Hospital

It can be costly for you to attend certified nursing assistant training from a community college. Well, guess what? You can get cna training from a hospital. There are hospitals willing to train you so long as you devote voluntary work all throughout your training. There are even hospitals that offer you a work contract. All you have to do is to render work for an established period of time based on the contract once you get cna certification.

Sadly, not all hospitals offer cna training. You have to work your way and do a lot of research. Once you are able to find one, you must grab that opportunity because someone else might grab it. You might end up getting cna training in day care centers, rehabilitation centers and nursing home facilities. Don’t get me wrong. Those places are great avenues to get your training but hospitals will give you an incomparable training, a training you wouldn’t get elsewhere.

Here’s how you can find hospitals that offer cna training.
  1. Hit the yellow pages. You might want to list down all the phone numbers of hospitals in your city. Call them one by one and make some inquiries. Ask them if they offer cna training. You need a lot of patience because there are hospitals that don’t offer such training. You could be kind enough to ask them if they know any hospital that offer such training.
  2. Go to local community colleges and check if they have work and study programs tied up to hospitals. They might have existing contracts with hospitals that provide free training to students.
  3. Check out educational establishments if they provide free training in exchange for voluntary work throughout the training.
  4. Head to the Board of Nursing in your state. They have a listing of all certified CNA training programs. You can contact the ones in the listing.
  5. Ask certified nursing assistants as to where they got their training. They might also know which institutions offer free training.
